This academic session students in Titwala village will have books, thanks to a Vile Parle Foundation

Schools will soon reopen for the next academic session and Vile Parle’s Rajani Foundation India (RFI) wants to ensure that the under privileged students have the study materials that they need.

Understanding that there will be many who will be willing to donate stationary items and books, the Foundation is invited individual donors to sponsor one student from a village near Mumbai. The initiative is being called ‘Each One, Teach One’.

RFI has managed to sponsor the education of 40 students living in Chiradpada, Fuloripada, Pisepada and Amane village near Titwala. The students are being provided with sponsorship as well as educational aid.

They hope to find donors for 20 more students before June 15. Professor Medhni Anjanikar and Dr Apoorva Salvi are co-ordinators of the campaign that has involved many college students.

“We initially wanted to do carry out this campaign in Mumbai but there are several NGOs working here. This is why we turned our attention to the villages,” said Aniket Salvi, founder of RFI.
