Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Deputy Governor R Gandhi released a book ‘RBI- An Anecdotal History’ authored by Mumbai-based former RBI official PP Ramachandran in Kochi recently.
The book has been authored by Mumbai-based former RBI official PP Ramachandran, who has worked with the central bank for four decades.
This is Ramachandran’s second book. Gandhi has promised Ramachandran to write the foreword for his third book, which he is planning to write.
About The Book :
Ramachandran’s book is a brief biographical details, vignettes and contributions of all RBI governors from first governor Sir Osborne Smith to the current governor Raghuram Rajan. Moreover, it contains many interesting and witty anecdotes from his own tenure in the bank. This book includes reviews of many books on banking written by other RBI executives.

About The Author
Shri.P.P.Ramachandran, 80 years old, is a Post graduate in Economics, Post graduate in Comparative Mythology, Certificate and Diploma holder in Sanskrit from Mumbai University. He has served in the Reserve Bank of India for forty years in a number of Departments and retired as Deputy General Manager. He has a rich collection of illuminating stories and entertaining anecdotes about R B I personnel—High and Low—from Governors to Economic Assistants. His repertoire is quite impressive and his recounting quite racy. He writes for several journals and is a prolific reviewer of books, a book selector for Libraries. He gives lectures regularly to audiences, young and old on different disciplines. He resides in Mumbai with his wife and two daughters. He is a rare bird—a literary banker. His hobbies are reading, writing and watching English, Malayalam movies and art-films. He has published one book—“A Bunch of Fragrant Roses”
