August in Parle – Celebrations, Spirit & Community (editorial)
August is here, and with it, the most awaited festival of every Parlekar—Ganesh Utsav. For decades, our lanes have echoed with the beats of dhol, the sparkle of decorations, and the fragrance of modaks. Be it small family idols or grand sarvajanik mandals, Vile Parle has always celebrated Bappa with devotion and creativity, bringing neighbors, friends, and families together.
In this issue, we bring you the sweetness of modak varieties, insights on healthy living at any age, reflections on re-urbanization and future-ready cities, and even the companionship of pets in our homes. Finance, health, lifestyle, and culture—all find space in these pages, just as they do in our daily lives.
From the New Age Yoga Institute’s national recognition, to Parle students excelling at youth festivals, the IC3 Global University Fair hosted in Parle, and even a citizen-led initiative to tackle plastic waste in our suburb—this month’s news glimpses remind us of the talent, responsibility, and spirit thriving in our community.
As we welcome Lord Ganesha, let us celebrate not just tradition but also the progress and promise of our suburb.
Wishing all Parlekars a joyful and blessed Ganeshotsav 2025!
