Dr Ramesh Prabhoo Memorial 82nd Maharashtra State Table Tennis Championship
The Suburban Table Tennis Association , Mumbai has organised Dr Ramesh Prabhoo Memorial 82nd State Table Tennis Championship in Vile Parle. The marquee event will be held between 19th to 28th January at the ISO certified sports complex, Prabhodankar Thackeray Krida Sankul, Shahaji Raje Road, Vile Parle East.

In the youth girls category, local talent Diya Chitale displayed clinical precision to clinch the title. She beat Shreya Deshpande of Thane in 4 straight sets.
One of the most technically sound batsmen of 90s in India, Pravin Amre handed over trophies to the winners.
In his keynote, Pravin advised young players to believe in their skill, apply aggression when needed. He also gave them tips to keep their calm and nerves when the chips are down. Probably this is what he must have been advising his mentee, Ajinkya Rahane who performed when it needed most and also displayed exceptional calm and composure to bring best among the resources he had.
In the end, it was his perseverance and composure brought best form his team mates to snatch a test series in Australia, even after a humilational loss in the first test.
Pravin also unveiled a calender, which is a tribute by TSTTA to top players of the Mumbai Suburban district.
Before leaving, Pravin paddled for a few strokes with the winner, Diya. From one one batter to another!!
