Indian Cricket Journalist Haineel Shah covers 3500+ Club Cricket Games in 3 years…
Indian Cricket Journalist Haineel Shah recently achieved a record of covering over 3500 Grassroot level Club Cricket Games in Mumbai in a span of 3 years. A record untouched by any news media portal or a journalist. Haineel completely devoted himself after joining Cricketgraph.com where he is now working past 3+ years as the senior editor. The process of covering a grassroot level match is not just limited to writing it and updating it. Hundreds of scoresheets in doctor handwritings are received in a month of various MCA & Non MCA tournaments, you have to go through each scoresheets online as well as manually. You have to check who all played well & not just rely on the information given, try to get their contact numbers and photos, talk with the players, then write reports in a professional manner and publish it within 2 or 3 days of the match date. For this even the reporters are equally important & at Cricketgraph, we have reporters like Sanjaybhai & team who travels day in and day out on various grounds of Mumbai under any weather conditions.
Speaking with Townparle.in when asked what kind of commitment is required to cover such levels of Cricket consistently, Haineel said “I work 8 months in a year without a break! It’s like an army life where you get vacation for some months in an entire year and you work selflessly for the remaining time. I remember recently my friend asking me why don’t you come to Wankhede for Ind-WI Match and all I said was if I spend 8 to 10 hrs of a day watching an International match, atleast 4 to 5 Club Level games will take a miss & take the beating because of my holiday! Because of one holiday atleast 4 to 5 deserving performances won’t be covered on that given day and for me that is more important than watching an International match”
That’s the kind of passion Haineel & his entire team has for promoting grassroot cricket. Haineel further quipped that” I thank Cricketgraph.com for giving me an opportunity to join at such a time when no one knew my passion and my skills for cricket journalism. The founder of the Cricketgraph certainly groomed, nurtured and extracted the best out of me which is benefitting me as well as the cricketing fraternity”
Cricketgraph.com has changed the scenario of local cricket in Mumbai where in thousands of cricketers have been given a platform for their performances.
