Shri Ram Navami

Ram Navami

Shri Ram Navami is around the corner. Thinking about this day takes me back to the beautiful lighting and the decoration of Madrasi Ram Mandir. Every year at least 15 days prior to Ram Navami the Mandir and the premises is always been decorated. This place has known by people for years together, visiting the Mandir always gave an auspicious vibe. The entire corner of Paranjape scheme use to glow with the lightings. Even passing through this route gave a festive vibe.

On the day of Ram Navami, The birth of Shri Ram had been followed by pooja and mangal aarti. Maha Prasad was served to the people. In evening, it had been always crowded with people. Outside the Mandir, there were stalls selling the pooja thalis.  There were also food and desert (ice-cream and kulfi) stalls. Many hawkers were selling toys such bow and arrow, trumpets, sword, etc. Dhol tasha pathak gave a joyful festive vibe. The entire alley felt blissful. At night, after everybody’s darshan a small rally with the rath of Lord Shri Ram takes place. That’s how it has always been celebrated.

It does break my heart realizing that the wait is still a year away!
