SSC, HSC exams to be offline in Maharashtra!

With the rising of Covid-19 cases again in Mumbai and Maharashtra, our education minister Varsha Gaikwad has once again reiterated in the state assembly that Std X and XII board exams will be conducted offline. Parents and students both are worried since in many cities there is a lockdown announced like Amravati, Aurangabad, Nashik and how students will travel, how their arrangements will be made and many other questions arising in their minds.

Education Department has set up a committee of 10 members headed by Dinkar Patil, chairperson of the state board, to recommend the best ways to conduct X and XII exams.

Approximately 17 Lakhs students appear SSC and 15 Lakhs students appear HSC exams every year. We have already consulted with some experts to understand how to conduct the examinations in offline mode considering the rise in covid-19 cases. We are also considering if the exams can be conducted at the students respective schools. We will also ensure that the forthcoming year doesn’t get impacted since this was a stressful year for students.

This year because of the online educations students habit of writing physical paper is reduced so parents are suggesting that the board must take offline prelims before the final exams so students can atleast have a hands on for writing papers physically.

I believe in the coming few days the committee will come up with a SOP for standard X and XII exams. This will answer many questions and might clear doubts in everyone`s mind. Till then it’s a wait and watch for everyone.
