Tech Trends 2019

Technology is now evolving very rapidly. As technology evolves, it enables even faster change and progress; causing the acceleration of the rate of change, until eventually it will become exponential. According research 2018 was a big year for innovation in tech.

Trending Innovations and Technologies

Google Assistant
Google Assistant is an artificial intelligence-poweredvirtual assistant developed by Google that is primarily available on mobile and smart home devices. It was initially debuted in May 2016. After a period it began to be deployed on other Android devices in February 2017, including third-party smartphones and Android Wear. Assistant has been, and is being, further extended to support a large variety of devices, including cars and third party smart home appliances.Google Assistant, in the nature and manner of Google Now, can search the Internet, schedule events and alarms, adjust hardware settings on the user’s device, and show information from the user’s Google account.

5G Network

5G is the fifth generation of wireless network technology. The current standard, 4G, increased data-transfer rates and gave rise to many of the connected devices and services that we rely on today. Using a high frequency spectrum, small cell antennas, and AI-enabled software, the 5G network will allow up to 100X better throughput, 10X longer battery life, and 1000X larger data volumes, all while being 10X more reliable. In essence, 5G removes today’s network constraints and makes possible machine-to-machine and human-to-machine experiences once inconceivable.

Smart Watches

Some might say that one of the earliest forms of “wearable” was a pedometer: an early device worn by people who wanted to count the number of steps they took in a given day. From there, the technology led to more advanced fitness trackers — like the Fitbit — the functions of which eventually became embedded in smartwatches, like the Apple Watch, MI Watch.

Smart Speaker

Controlled smart speakers like the Amazon Echo, Google Home, or Apple HomePod is trending now. It’s very handy and useful in day to day life. Many users are increasingly engaging with the voice assistants that power these devices e.g., Amazon’s Alexa — on a growing number of platforms, especially as the conversational capabilities of these assistants continue to improve.

Drone Technology

  • Military uses of Drone

Drones have found a number of applications in the military and defence world such as

  • Bomb Detection

Owing to the small size of the drones, they can usually penetrate into constricted spaces. Add to that, effective cameras and this makes the drones suitable for purposes of bomb detection.

  • Surveillance

The defence of any country usually tends to conduct regular surveys in order to ensure protection of the people and the place.Using drones, in this case, could be an interesting idea. This reduces manual labour and you get a wider field of view.

  • Filming & Journalism

The world of media has really conquered the idea of using drones to their fullest extent. A lot of movies these days are shot using quad copters and other drones.

This idea has given the movie industry a completely new look and some of the names that come up when we talk about filmography with drones are James Bond’s Sky fall, the well-acclaimed Leonard Di Caprio’s The Wolf of Wall Street, the evergreen Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the popular television series Game of Thrones and the likes.

  • Disaster Management

One of the most important applications for these unmanned vehicles lies in disaster management. It is often seen that there is utter chaos and mismanagement of resources soon after a disaster, be it a man-made or a natural calamity. Drones could help you significantly here.

Smarter, Bigger, Clearer Televisions

Like so many other things in the daily life of the consumer — televisions, too, are becoming smarter and more connected. And as the quality and capabilities of these devices continue to evolve and improve, the demand for a better experience grows, as well.

  Streaming Services Galore

Much of the time, it’s something on a streaming service, such as Netflix, Amazon prime etc. Video streaming services are offering an increasing amount of exclusive content, and live TV streaming options are becoming widely available this year and that has more consumers exploring their over  the top.video options

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, has already received a lot of buzz in recent years, but it continues to be a trend to watch because its effects on how we live, work and play are only in the early stages. In addition, other branches of AI have developed, including Machine Learning. AI refers to computers systems built to mimic human intelligence and perform tasks such as recognition of images, speech or patterns and decision making. AI can do these tasks faster and more accurately than humans.
