Use Twitter advanced search to find Covid-19 resources
With the rising covid-19 cases in Mumbai and India, twitter has added a new feature which can help covid patients to search resources like Hospital beds, Oxygen supplies and other related facilities with a location filter.
Twitter as a platform has seen a rise in the usage since many of them have been using it to post covid information like hospital beds, Oxygen availability, Remdisivir / Tocilizumab & other medicines sources, etc. The 2nd wave of covid19 has been worst in India and due to which the country is falling short of almost everything. In these bad times many of them have come together and created common resources which can help the needy. Social media has played a vital role in this, i.e. Google Docs, Twitter and many websites have been created where people can search, post requests, share relevant information.
Twitter’s new advanced search feature is now available in India when you’re logged in to the platform on the desktop. It allows users to tailor search results to specific date ranges, people and more. This makes it easier to find specific tweets.
Let’s say if you’d like to see tweets that are close to your location, type in a relevant hashtag in the search bar, tap the toggle button on the top right, and turn on ‘Near you’ under ‘Location’. You’ll have to turn on location settings for this to work.
There’s also an option to make sure the most recent tweets are at the top of the timeline by tapping the ‘sparkle’ button on the top right of your home timeline. This option gives you a filter to only see recent info shared on the platform and not one that may no longer be of any use.
Here`s how Twitter’s advanced search feature works:-
– Log in to twitter.com and click advanced search under Search filters on the upper right tab or more options and then click advanced search. You can also alternatively go to twitter.com/search-advanced.
