Tropical Cyclone Tauktae causes damage in Vile Parle

The extremely severe Cyclonic Storm  Tauktae  (pronounced as Tau’Te) passed Mumbai on Monday morning and it moved further towards North and made a landfall in Gujarat late night on Monday. Winds of 150 km/h to 180 km/h and moderate to heavy rains was  experienced in Mumbai and nearby areas. Fishermen were advised not to venture in the sea during this period.  NDRF team was called in and no one was allowed to visit – Juhu Beach , Silver Beach and Versova Beach.  

Many places in Vile Parle trees were uprooted and fell off, there has been damage to vehicles parked on road and some to even property as well.
There was water logging near Vodafone Store – MG Road, Parle Tilak School – Hanuman Road and Opp to Babu Vada Pav on Hanuman Road, Hedgewar Maidan and other areas too.  

The Tin sheets covering the site of Zee Shaan had become loose and about to fall.
Bamboo and Tin sheets covering another construction site besides Visnu Prasad society or besides Parle G biscuit factory fell on the road due to heavy wind and hampered the traffic coming from V.S. Khandekar Marg below the fly over and also hampered the traffic coming from parle west from Capt Vinayak Gore Fly over. 

Trees were uprooted near Mcdonals – Hanuman Road, Ahead of Wagh Bakri Tea lounge –  Hanuman Road, C.K.P. Bank – Prarthana Samaj Road and few other places as well.

Prompt Parlekars informed Fire Brigade and B.M.C (Garden department) about the incident and they were in place shortly and started taking corrective measures.  

We pray to God that let this cyclone pass with minimal damage to property and life as it moves further towards Gujarat.
