Orion CISCE School Organizes Inaugural Youth Parliament to Foster Leadership Among Students
Orion CISCE School, under the aegis of Vile Parle Mahila Sangh, organized its first-ever Youth Parliament on August 13, 2024, providing students with a unique opportunity to engage in a parliamentary-style debate and gain insights into the workings of the Indian Parliament. This initiative is a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and fostering a deep understanding of public issues among the youth.
The Youth Parliament saw enthusiastic participation from 55 students of Grades IX and X, who immersed themselves in the proceedings, debating, and discussing various public issues. The event aimed to instill leadership qualities in students while educating them about the importance of civic engagement and the role of an educated mind in nation-building.
The session was structured to simulate an actual parliamentary session, complete with question-and-answer rounds that allowed students to explore and articulate the challenges faced by society. This practical exposure is expected to help students form informed opinions on public matters and develop their ability to express these views clearly and confidently.
Dr. (Mrs.) Ravinder Pal Kaur Assi, the Honourable Principal of Orion CISCE School, lauded the students for their active participation and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in developing leadership skills. She highlighted that the Youth Parliament not only raises awareness of societal issues among students but also enables them to understand and articulate the perspectives of the common man.
The event was a resounding success, with students showcasing their potential as the future leaders of the nation. The school’s innovative approach to education continues to empower students, preparing them to contribute meaningfully to society.
